Alhambra: The Card Game looks good

with 5 comments

I just saw the Alhambra: The Card Game preview at Boardgamenews. I liked the card play of Alhambra, but I thought the city building was gilding the lily. I have thought about buying Stimmt So, the original and simpler version of Alhambra, but it’s ugly, rare and expensive to ship, so I held fire. I’ll have to read the rules before I buy.

  1. Iain Cheyne,

I’ve been reading your blog and loving the Eurogame reviews and “inconsequential ruminations.” I would like you to know that the owner of Queen Games, Rajive Gupta, will be at the large Queen Games booth (701) at Origins on Thursday and Friday. Please stop by and say hello. If you want to schedule a specific time to meet with Rajive, please let me know and I can schedule that for you as well. We value your opinion.

P.S. We will be at GenCon as well if you are going to miss Origins this year.

    my regards,

  3. Thanks Kimberly. Unfortunately I won’t be at Origins, mainly as I live in London, but I’ll keep an eye out for the buzz. It turns out that The Alhambra Card game is indeed rethemed Stimmt So href=”http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/492694/differences-from-stimmt-so” rel=”nofollow”>rethemed Stimmt So href=”http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/492694/differences-from-stimmt-so” rel=”nofollow”>http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/492694/differences-from-stimmt-so, so I’ll have to check it out.

I have to say that Queen are making superb games at the moment – Chicago Express, Enuk and Click Clack (played this tonight with my daughter) are just games I have played in the last month. Keep up the great work.

    Michael: Too right!
