I have been very impressed with the coComment service.

coComment keeps track of all the online conversations you’re following in one convenient place, and informs you whenever something is added to a conversation.

The Firefox plugin is particularly useful.

  1. Yep, I’ve been using CoComment for a while now, and with the Firefox extension it is genuinely useful and usable.

    It does have to be said that it can occasionally hiccup, though, and when it does it can interfere with posting comments.
