Sorry to go off-topic, but I’m ecstatic London got the Olympics. I’ll have to get tickets for the rowing. I’ll be 40 in 2012 – blimey!
I’m sorry we had to go head-to-head with Paris. I am very fond of Paris and it’s a shame somone had to lose out.
I was certain the Olympic committee would give it to Paris, if only to give a slap to Blair and Bush.
That was a possibility. I think most people were expecting us to lose to Paris and were quite fatalistic about it. The Parisians would not have been so wildly happy about the result.
Unfortunately, now we are doubly a target for terrorists…
