Maya - a good example of how many excellent games there are to choose from now. Many years ago Maya would have had lots of plays. Now it gets a couple of plays max before it's relegated to the great game graveyard in the sky. An ok game, a bit bland and nothing really new.

Diplomacy/Civilisation/Conquistador - We used to play Diplomacy at school & then I played quite a lot via the postal hobby. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole now - even though email & the internet has made it the ideal game for PBEM in my opinion. I'm much more likely to play A Game of Thrones which, to me, is a Diplomacy clone with some very, very good 'German' elements in. Intersting that the discussions around unbalanced Houses and which House has the advantage are very similar to those that occurred for Diplomacy in the early seventies regarding which country was the best to play.

I also have Civilisation & Conquistador and, along with things like Magic Realm and Freedom in the Galaxy, would love to play them again but they are just far too time consuming.
